Determining who will install and congure the MSA
Network and storage management experience is required to successfully install this product. If you are
not familiar with installing and conguring storage array systems, HP can install your MSA1510i for you.

Many different levels of assistance are available. For example, the following services are included under
Storage Deployment Services > HP StorageWorks Disk Arrays:
Site inspection
Verication of operating system patch levels
Customized virtual disk design
Array hardware installation and activation of optional software, such as RAID Manager, OS Solutions
kits, and Secure Path, according to product specications Array initialization
SAN integration for up to eight pre-existing SAN interconnect ports, including switch, hub, and
SCSI bridge technology
Verication that the implemented solution meets your specications
Availability of an HP Services Storage Specialist to answer questions during the deployment process
Verication testing to conrm product functionality and adherence to HP installation quality standards
On-site orientation, including highlights of basic operation and a review of documentation
Gathering and recording information
Worksheets are included in this installation and user guide and on the installation and conguration
roadmap poster. As you gather and identify the hardware and software components for your iSCSI
network, use these worksheets to record information about these components and your conguration.
Some information is easily obtained before installing the MSA1510i, while some of the information is
created during the conguration process. A basic worksheet is included on the poster, with more detailed
worksheets in of this guide.
Information recorded on these worksheets is used during the initial system setup and conguration and is
helpful for future conguration changes and troubleshooting purposes.
NOTE:
If a
supplier is installing or conguring your MSA1510i, provide them with the poster and this guide,
and
verify that they complete these worksheets.
