This guide provides information about installing, conﬁguring, and using the MSA1510i.

This guide is intended for network administrators and storage managers with moderate or advanced

knowledgeofIPandstoragenetworks.

Prerequisites

The following are prerequisites for installing or using this product:

• Determine who will install and conﬁgure your system.

A moderate level of knowledge about storage systems, Storage Area Networks (SANs), and

IP networks is required to install and manage this storage system. If you are not familiar with

installing and conﬁguring storage systems or IP networks, HP can install your MSA1510i. For more

information, see Determining who will install and conﬁgure the MSA.

• Use the MSA1510 i installation and conﬁguration roadmap, v2.0 to guide you through the

process of installing and conﬁguring the MSA1510i. This document is available on the MSA1510i

Software CD.

• Record system information on the checklist of the MSA1510i installation and conﬁguration

roadmap or on the more detailed worksheets at the back of this guide.

• Read the Compatibility guide to verify support for the operating system and network hardware

components.
