Description

This release includes updated ﬁrmware for the HP StorageWorks MSL4048 Tape Library.

The Library ﬁrmware can be updated through any of the following methods:

• Remote management interface (RMI).

• Operator co

ntrol p anel (OCP).

• HP Library and Tape Tools (L&TT).

Enhancements

• Support added for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).

• Support added for partitioning the Library into logical libraries. The Tape Library can have up to

as many logical libraries as there are tape driv es.

• Support added for the 1 /8 G2 and MSL Encryption Kit, which is a solution for generating and

storing encryption keys to write and restore encrypted data on LTO-4 media with LTO-4 tape drives.

• Support added for the Ultrium 1760 parallel SCSI half-height tape drive.

• Support added for SNMP version 2.

• Ability to save and restore the Library conﬁgu ration settings to a USB ﬂash drive (from the OCP)

or a ﬁle (from the RMI).

• Thenumberofallowedreservedslotsisincreasedfrom9to46.

Fixes

• Fixed a case where the Library could appear unresponsive when used with network security

programs that constantly check the security status of all network ports. Usually Drive

Commu

nication (code: F1 xx) errors were the last entries in the library logs.

• Fixed a case where the Library could appear unresponsive after the operator issued a command

from the OCP to remove a magazine but the magazine was not removed.
