HP StorageWorks MSL8096 Tape Library firmware release notes (AK382-96013, November 2009)

Improved encryption key backup
The Backup feature for Encryption Keys located in the Security section of the RMI has been enhanced
to allow selection of the tokens most recently added keys to be stored in the backup file. Previous
versions only allow storing of all keys on the encryption token to the backup file.
Added encryption token firmware display
The RMI Status Security screen now reports encryption token firmware version number.
Fixes
Fixes in version 9.60
Library reports only 48 slots available after firmware downgrade and upgrade
If an MSL8096 is upgraded to firmware version 9.50 and then an older version of firmware is loaded
into the Library (9.30 and lower), and then updated to version 9.50 for the second time, the Library
will report that only 48 storage slots are available instead of the expected 96. This problem is corrected
by version 9.60.
Library assigns the incorrect port speed for Ultrium 4 FC drives with firmware version H58W
When using the RMI or OCP automatic port speed configuration setup for Ultrium 4 Fibre Channel
drives that have firmware version H58W, the Library always configured the port speed to 1 Gb/s.
In firmware version 9.60 when using the automatic port speed configuration, the Library will assign
the correct port speed for the HBA (1 Gb/s, 2 Gb/s, or 4 Gb/s).
Library does not rescan barcodes when a magazine is re-inserted before requested
After removing a magazine using the OCP operations menu, if the magazine is re-inserted before the
pop up message that states Insert Left/Right Magazine(s), the Library will not re-scan the barcodes
of the cartridges until the user uses the OCP controls to navigate away from the menu. This problem
is corrected by version 9.60.
Fixes in version 9.50
Library parameters (link Serial Number, and WWID) are lost during power cycle testing
Corrected problem by modifying the algorithm used while writing this data into memory during the
power on sequence.
When Extended Mode was enabled in a library and the library is power cycled without
installing a Library extender, then an error condition "Unsupported Drives is incorrectly
returned
After clicking OK, the library continues to operate as a separate library as expected. However, the
library would display the OCP warning Unsupported Drives. Corrected this false warning report
