Fixed a case where the user could not modif y the Fibre Channel conguration parameters on
the remote management interface Conguration: Drive screen when four Fibre Channel tape
drives were installed in the Library.
Fixed a rare condition when the OCP would continue to show <-Close Mailslot when the
mailslot was closed. Pressing the front panel buttons would not cause a change in the display.
Fixed a case where the Library could appear unresponsive when used with network security
programs that constantly check the security status of all network ports. Usually Drive
Communication (code: F1 xx) errors were the last entries in the library logs.
Fixed a case where the Library could appear unresponsive after the operator issued a com m and
fromtheOCPtoremoveamagazinebutthemagazinewasnotremoved.
Fixed a case where the time stamp in the library logs would be recorded as one day earlier
than the library time.
Fixed a case where error retry Code 88 00 (setting of sle d motor parameters failed) was
incorrectly logged during the power up sequence.
Fixed a case where error code 9B (sled p osition sensor n ot found) was reported at ambient
temperatures below 10 C when the mailslot did not pop out more than 15 mm.
Fixed a case where the Library would report Not Ready after running the Demo Test.
Compatibility note
When using this rmware version (8.90) or future revisions with the Encryption Kit, any key server tokens
set with an o dd number of characters for the PIN will not be totally backwards compatible in Autoloaders
or Libraries with code revisions 2.10, 4.00, 6.30, or 8.70 (the previous released versions). In those
cases, a
tokeninanAutoloaderorLibrarywith2.10,4.00,6.30,or8.70rmware revisions will be
able to accept the PIN for the token and access keys on the token, but the user will not be able to
changethePINonthetoken,savethekeystoale, or restore the keys from a le until the Autoloader
or Library rmware is upgraded. Users should always upgrade to the latest version of rmware to
ensure
complete compatibility.
Installation instructions
To upgrade rmware from the RMI:
1. Download current rmware using HP Library & Tape Tools or from the HP support website:

2. Log into the RMI as the administrator user.
3. In the Support: Firmware page, browse to the location of the Librar y rmware le.
4. Cli ck Update.
To upgrade rmware from the OCP using a USB ash drive:
1. Download current rmware using HP Library & Tape Tools or from the HP support website:

ttp://www.hp.com/support/storage.Copythermware onto the USB ash drive.
2. Insert the USB ash drive into the USB port on the back of the Library.
3. From the Support menu, select FW Upgrade > By USB.
4. Select the Library as the target for the upgrade, and select the lename of the rmware.
5. Click Upgrade.
6. When the upgrade is complete, remove the USB ash drive from the USB port.
