Dependencies and Requirements - NAS E7000 as a
Single Device
The following conditions must be met in order for the NAS E7000 to operate as a
single device.
Storage Object Requirements
• MA8000, MA12000, and MA16000-based storage only
• ACS firmware (families 8.5 and 8.6 only)
• SAN-based storage composed of RAID 3/5 RAIDsets
NOTE: All RAIDsets are supported, but it is recommended that you use RAID 3/5 for the
best combination of availability, performance, and space efficiency.
Storage Networking Requirements
• One open port on each of the two SAN switches that access the same controller
pairs
• Two fibre channel cables
IP Networking and Setup Requirements
• A single Ethernet connection on a switch or hub for the RILOE board
NOTE: The RILOE board connection is optional, but recommended.
• A single Ethernet connection for the management subnet of the NAS E7000
