Configuration Setup
This chapter provides information about initializing the StorageWorks NAS
Executor E7000 using online or offline methods.
Before completing the tasks in this chapter, verify that the NAS E7000 is installed in
the rack and that all cables and cords are connected. It is also necessary to collect
certain information required during the initialization process, as mentioned in
Chapter 2, “Before You Begin.”
Initialization Methods
The recommended method for initializing the NAS E7000 is by using the WebUI
configuration application that comes with the NAS E7000. The optional method is to
create a configuration data diskette. The data diskette can then be inserted into the
NAS E7000 during initial power up. Compaq recommends using a monitor to view
the initialization process if the data diskette is used to configure the NAS device.
