Appendix B
HSZ22 Host LUN Mapping Procedure
This appendix contains a procedure that explains how to correct a host LUN
mapping problem.
If a RAIDset loses its host LUN mapping, the virtual disk LUN number can be
inadvertently set to -1. The purpose of this appendix is to describe how to
correct both a host port mapping and a LUN mapping problem.
Correcting a Host Port Mapping Problem
When a RAIDset becomes unmapped, the host port can get set to -1. This can
be viewed on the Virtual Disk Properties page under the Settings field of the
display. To restore your Virtual Disk Properties setting to normal operation,
perform the following steps.
1. Open the StorageWorks Command Console.
2. Double-click the desired virtual disk and check controller, host port, and
LUN number. If there is -1 LUN, proceed to step 3. If all LUNs have a
valid LUN number, the RAIDsets are configured appropriately.
3. Click Settings on the virtual disk sheet, select the host port number, and
follow the instructions displayed on the screen. The RA3000 will
reboot.
4. Open the StorageWorks Command console and click Virtual Disks and
then Properties to ensure the settings were saved.
This remedies most LUN Mapping problems. If unsuccessful, perform the
procedure “Correcting a Host LUN Mapping Problem”.
