Preparing the Pedestal for Operation
Preparing the RAID Array 3000 for operation involves the following
procedures:
1. Mounting the base.
2. Installing the door.
3. Installing the disk StorageWorks Building Blocks (SBBs).
4. Connecting the PC serial interface cable.
5. Connecting the AC power cords.
6. Charging the UPS battery.
7. Installing the SCSI host adapter and connecting the SCSI bus cables.

Mounting the Base
Mount the stabilizing base to the subsystem as follows:
1. Place the subsystem on its top.
2. Align the base with the bottom of the subsystem as shown in
Figure 2–3.
3. Install the four hex-head 6-32 screws through the base into the
subsystem and tighten the screws using a 3/16 inch hex-head
screwdriver.
4. Set the subsystem on its base and continue the installation process.
