Associated validation commands. ValidateHostVolume, ValidateSnapcloneHostVolume.
Agent and license prerequisites. Requires a host agent. Requires a local replication license
for the storage system on which the underlying storage volume (presented source) is located.
Command result value. List of snapclone storage volume names (UNC). For a complete list,
see Command result values.
OS specifics. Yes. See examples.
Tru64 UNIX. When this command is used with AdvFS volumes that have heavy I/O, HP
recommends briefly suspending the I/O before the replication step. See Suspending I/O
before replicating AdvFS volumes.
Some storage volumes that underlie a host volume cannot be copied using snapclone
replication. See the HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager User Guide for snapclone
guidelines.
This command can be used with the CreateHostVolume command to re-create a host volume
from one enabled host on another enabled host.
This command cannot be used with some older versions of controller software. For information
on controller version feature support, see the HP P6000 Enterprise Virtual Array Compatibility
Reference.
See Resource names and UNC formats.
SnapcloneHostVolumeToContainersInManagedSet
Creates preallocated snapclones (point-in-time copies) of the storage volumes (virtual disks) that
underlie a host volume, by using containers in a managed set. The snapclone copies are presented
to the enabled host and a host bus scan is performed to identify the presented storage.
Syntax and arguments
When initially inserted into a job, the command syntax and default arguments are:
SnapcloneHostVolumeToContainersInManagedSet ( %hostvol_unc_name%, %managed_set_of_containers%, NOWAIT
)
UNC Host Volume Name (%hostvol_unc_name%). Select or enter the UNC name of the host volume
to be copied.
Managed Set Name (%managed_set_of_containers%). Select or enter the name of the managed
set in which the virtual disk containers are members.
Wait Flag. Select WAIT or NOWAIT. See Wait/nowait argument.
