Completing simple searches
The Simple Search page searches for documents (email messages or files) containing words you enter in
the Search for field. In the Search for field, you can enter s imple words, words with wildcards (*), or a
more sophisticated query involving Boolean expressions or word sequences. The Simple Search page is
simpler than the Advanced Search page only because there are fewer fields you can search on.
To complete a simple search:
1. Click New Search in the toolbar. The Simple Search page is displayed.

2. Search using a ll of the following fields on the Simple Search page:
• Content Type: Whether to search for files (document) or email messages (email).
• Timeframe: The time period to search. This includes the last-modified date of a file or the
date an email message was sent.
