Viewing LSAN Devices
An LSAN device can be a “physical device,” meaning that it physically exists in the fabric, or it can be
a “proxy device.” A proxy device represents a real device in a remote fabric. It has a name server entry
and is assigned a valid port ID. When a proxy device is created in a fabric, the real device is considered
to be imported into this fabric. The presence of a proxy device is required for interfabric device
communication.
The LSAN Devices tab displays information about the physical and proxy devices and displays these
devices in a tree on the left side of the window. (If FC-FC Routing is disabled, the tables and tree nodes
in this tab are empty.)
Click the LSAN Devices element in the tree to display a count of all the physical and proxy LSAN
devices. Note that this count is for all of the LSAN fabrics.
