Version: SWX 2.00.0a Description These release notes cover HP StorageWorks X1000 G2 Network Storage Systems running editions of Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 and as of November 2010. IMPORTANT: Included with your storage system is the HP StorageWorks Storage System Recovery DVD. This DVD is used to restore the system to factory defaults. Keep this DVD in a safe place.
• Server Manager improvements include support for Web Remote Management (WebRM). • The X1800 G2 Network Storage System is based on the HP ProLiant DL380 G7 Server hardware platform. • The X1800sb G2 Network Storage Blade is based on the HP ProLiant BL460c G7 Server hardware platform. Fixes The following fixes were made in HP StorageWorks X1000 G2 Network Storage System version 2.00.0a: • Windows Error Reporting indicated that an Emulex FC card driver was not found during storage system installation.
System installation and recovery This section describes issues related to the system installation and recovery process. • When a system that has existing data volumes (non operating system volumes) is restored using the System Recovery DVD, the data volumes will not have drive letters assigned to them. This is by design. The volume labels are retained and can be used to identify the data volumes.
Storage System Quick Start Guide. Immediately after installing the storage system, confirm that your copy of the Microsoft Windows Storage Server2008 R2 operating system has been activated. IMPORTANT: Some storage systems may not automatically activate Windows during the system installation and system recovery process. To check the activation status of Windows, open Control Panel (Start > Control Panel), click System and Security, and then click System.
