Fixes Corrected in 5.5.304 The following fixes were made in this release: File systems • The ibrix_fsck command needed an option to focus consistency checking on specific segments.
"TcpKeepaliveCnt"=dword:00000009 "TcpKeepaliveIdle"=dword:00000618 "TcpKeepaliveIntvl"=dword:0000001e The parameters are: ◦ TcpKeepaliveIdle: specifies how long the keepalive routines wait before sending the first keepalive probe. ◦ TcpKeepaliveIntvl: When the keepalive time is reached, specifies how often to resend a probe. ◦ TcpKeepaliveCnt: Specifies the number of probes to send with no ACK response received before marking the connection as broken.
Additional workarounds in 5.5.4 • When joining multiple X9720 systems into a single cluster, it is important that the ibrix_vs command be used in the following manner. Run the ibrix_vs command individually for each of the X9720 racks, as if they were stand-alone systems. For example, if three X9720 systems will be joined together, the ibrix_vs command must be run three times.
• When a user was added with the ibrix_localusers command, the new user was not added to nodes running the passive management console. • A CIFS issue prevented file serving nodes from joining a child domain. • Restrictions for segment evacuation were corrected in the system administrator guides. Corrected in 5.5.
• In certain situations (such as the failure of a disk in shared storage), a runaway process could cause all X9720 vendorstorage objects to be marked Stale. The server eventually rebooted and the vendorstorage objects returned to normal operations. • Changes in the health status of segments and the underlying LUNs were not reported. • Numerous error messages were reported when a disk failed. • The message ibrix_journal_healme(): Err: Ignore request with inode inum=0 was issued repeatedly.

Management console • If the management console service is stopped on the active management console and, within a minute, the passive management console experiences a shutdown or reboot, the passive management console will become active when the node is restarted. When the fusionmanager is started on the formerly active management console (or that node is rebooted), that management console will also be in active mode.
CIFS • CIFS and X9000 Windows clients cannot be used together because of incompatible AD user to UID mapping. You can use either CIFS or X9000 Windows clients, but not both at the same time. • The permissions on the directory exporting a CIFS share govern the access rights that are given to the Everyone user as well as to the owner and group of the share. Consequently, the Everyone user may have more access rights than necessary.
nl DOMAIN\username or a MACHINE\username. On X9000 systems, local users are displayed as LOCAL\username, and it may seem like you should specify LOCAL\username in the Add dialog box in Windows. However, in this case, the Windows client cannot interpret LOCAL. Instead, specify the machine name of the server. For example, to add LOCAL\user1 to an ACL on a CIFS file shared out by serverX, specify serverX\user1 in the Add dialog box on the security tab.

General • On Windows X9000 clients, when Active Directory is switched from the static mapping mode to dynamic mapping, users with Full Control cannot rename files. This situation occurs because the UIDs and GIDs have changed.
Managing CIFS shares with the Microsoft Management Console (MMC). To manage CIFS shares, open an MMC with the Shared Folders snap-in. (Instructions for creating and saving an MMC with the snap-in begin on page 62 of the HP X9000 File Serving Software File System User Guide.) The user guide incorrectly states, on page 64, that you can access the MMC from the Start menu by selecting Computer, right-clicking, and selecting Manage. Creating FTP shares.
Upgrades The upgrade procedure is provided in the administrator guide for your storage system. Contact HP Support for assistance with the procedure. IMPORTANT: After upgrading to X9000 5.5.4, ensure that smb signing is configured either for enabled (smb_signing_enabled=1 and smb_signing_required=1), or for disabled (smb_signing_enabled=0 and smb_signing_required=0).
