HP StoreEver Enterprise Service Libarary G3 Six-slot LTO Magazine Assembly Installation and Replacement Instructions (QN998-96106, May 2013)

1. To remove magazines in the IE load port, pull
each magazine out horizontally.
2. To remove all other magazines, push each
magazine upwards until it unsnaps, then pull it
out.
NOTE: All magazines in the column
above this magazine must be removed first.
Install the new magazine
1. If the magazine is being installed in an IE load
port:
a. Insert the magazine in the appropriate space,
making sure the barcode label is at the top.
b. Push in until the magazine is properly seated.
2. If the magazine is being installed in any location
other than an IE load port:
NOTE: Magazines must be installed in a
bottom-to-top order. For example, you must
install a magazine in column 3, section 3
before you can install magazines located
in column 3, sections 2, then 1.
a. Insert the magazine in the appropriate space,
making sure the hooking tabs align with the
anchor slots and the barcode label is at the
top.
b. Using both hands, gently push the magazine
downward until it snaps into place.
c. Make sure that all four tabs are fully engaged
and that the back of the magazine is flush
with the wall of the module.
3. Make sure the barcode label of the magazine is
clean. Clean it if necessary.
4. Replace any cartridges in the same slots from
which they were removed.
5. Close the access door.
Prepare the library for use
1. On the operator panel, press the Robotics Enabled
button to enable the picker assembly.
2. Run the Configure and Calibrate teach test. See
HP StoreEver Enterprise Systems Library (ESL) G3
Tape Library User Guide, Teaching the Library
(Configuration and Calibration) section.
3. If the magazine is new (not a replacement) and
it should be part of a partition, modify the
partition to include it. See HP StoreEver Enterprise
Systems Library (ESL) G3 Tape Library User
Guide, Modifying Partitions section.
