Table 2 Supported SCSI bus t ypes
SCSI Bus Type
Supported
Ultra320 LVD
Yes. This is a recommended conguration for all Ultrium full-height tape drives.
Do not daisy cha
in Ultrium 1840 or Ultrium 960 tape drives because performance
will be degrade
d. Up to two Ultrium 460 tape drives may be daisy-chained.
Ultra160 LVD

acceptable con guration for Ultrium 960 and 1840 tape drives.

1840 and Ultrium 960 tape drives.
Ultra2 LVD
Yes. This is acceptable for one Ultrium 460 drive per bus, but performance may
be impaired.
Do not use with Ultrium 1840 or 960 tape drives and do not daisy-chain Ultrium

How can I check the SCSI bus t ype and SCSI ID?
For many operating systems, you can install and run HP Library & Tape To ols from either the
HP StorageWo rks Tap e CD-ROM or h
ttp://www.hp.com/support/tape tools to check your server’s
current SCSI conguration (see also Diagnostic tools ). This will provide information about the SCSI
bus and the SCSI IDs in use.
