The release includes updated firmware for HP StoreEver LTO-5 Ultrium SAS half-height tape drives.
HP Library and Tape Tools (HP L&TT) must be used to download firmware to the tape drive.

New functionality
• Added "cached" READ ATTRIBUTE command support to allow Cartridge Memory data to be
accessed after the tape has been unloaded.
Fixes
The following issues are resolved in firmware version Z64D:
• Space/Locate 0x5090/0x5092 reporting errors that resulted from corner-case situations.
• New tapes initialized by a drive containing an earlier firmware revision might get reported as a
blank tape.
• The drive might become unresponsive during writing due to internal hardware power-on
sequencing.
• Forcing writes to the physical EOT (End Of Tape) might result in the last wrap getting overwritten
under corner case conditions.
• Writing to partitioned tapes might result in 0x5092 errors being reported on subsequent reads.
• Poor performance when connected to some 6Gb SAS HBAs.
• The Cartridge Memory update failed causing assert reset due to other internal firmware processes
overflowing the queue.
• A Tape Alert flag 56 (0x38) was not being cleared when the issue was resolved.
• A Tape Alert 55 (0x37) error was not being triggered on a failure to thread the tape during a
load.
