HP OpenStorage (OST) Plug-in for Symantec NetBackup on Solaris (EJ002-90998, December 2012)

10 Recommendations
HP strongly recommends that restore jobs and duplicate jobs for an image not be run in
parallel.
Concurrent restores of a given image are not supported, but sequential restores of a given
image are supported.
It has been observed that a mismatch in reporting of image sizes occurs in the NetBackup
(NBU) Graphical User Interface (GUI) of a given image between backups and restores. This
is a known problem with NBU.
See configuration files location listed in “Installing the OpenStorage (OST) OST plug-in with
NetBackup (NBU)” (page 11) for details regarding the configuration parameters.
See configuration files locations listed in “Installing the OpenStorage (OST) OST plug-in with
NetBackup (NBU)” (page 11) for a range of values for a setting. If an invalid value is set for
a setting, the default value will be used.
HP recommends avoiding duplicate entries in configuration files. If there are duplicate entries
in configuration files, the second entry will be taken. See configuration files location listed in
“Installing the OpenStorage (OST) OST plug-in with NetBackup (NBU)” (page 11).
