Altitude Effects
Many tape drives, including those supplied by Hewlett-Packard, have vacuum column transport mechanisms
that are affected by atmospheric pressure. Adjustments to these mechanisms may be required to compensate
for the lower atmospheric pressure at higher altitudes. Hewlett-Packard field engineers make these
adjustments on tape drives supplied by Hewlett-Packard. Tape drives supplied by other vendors should be
adjusted by the appropriate vendor.
