The HP Surestore FC 2/1 LV and 4/1 HV bridges provide connectivity
between a Fibre Channel (FC) point-to-point (PPP), Fibre Channel switched
fabric (FC-SW) or Fibre Channel arbitrated loop (FC-AL) and two LVD Ultra-2
SCSI buses on the 2/1 LV, and four HVD Narrow/Wide Fast/Ultra SCSI buses
on the 4/1 HV.
The bridge is a storage router that translates the Fibre Channel protocol (FCP)
to and from the SCSI protocol so that Fibre Channel and SCSI devices can
communicate with each other. It attaches to a Fibre Channel host or switch and
transfers the command, data, and status information to SCSI targets. Packets
are transferred transparently by the bridge from host to targets and vice versa.
