HP Surestore Bridge FC 2/1 LV and FC 4/1 HV Installation and Operations Guide

Chapter 8 LED Indicators 185
Chapter 8
The fault indicator is lit when the bridge detects a fault condition. Faults
can occur as a result of a power-on self test (POST), or operational failure.
It is normal for this indicator to flash on when the bridge is powered up or
reset. If the fault indicator stays lit, contact an HP service representative.
The Fibre Channel indicator shows Fibre Channel activity when lit. If this
indicator fails to light at all or stays continually lit without corresponding
SCSI bus activity, it may indicate a problem with the Fibre Channel link.
Verify the Fibre Channel configurations.
The Ethernet indicator signifies Ethernet activity when lit. If the light fails to
flicker or stays continuously lit, it may indicate a problem with the network
connection. Verify the network connection. The port must be connected to
a 10/100baseT Ethernet network to function properly.
The SCSI and bus indicators show SCSI activity (when lit) on the bus
indicated (bus 0, 1, 2, or 3). This should only occur briefly during power-
up or configuration, and relatively often when the bridge is transferring
data. If the SCSI indicator stays continually lit without corresponding target
device activity, it may indicate a problem with the SCSI bus configuration.
Verify the SCSI bus configuration.
