Diagnosing Problems
This section describes potential problems and solutions. If you are unable to
diagnose and solve a problem using these guidelines, contact an HP service
representative or your sales representative. By using these suggested
procedures, you can determine in advance some of the information that a
service technician will need.
Cannot Turn On the Tape Library or MO Jukebox
If the library or jukebox will not power-up, use the following steps before taking
further action:
1. Verify all power connections, breakers, and switch settings are working
and correct.
2. Consult the library or jukebox user guide for additional troubleshooting
steps and support options.
Cannot Turn On the Fibre Channel Switch
If the switch will not power-up, use the following steps before taking further
action:
1. Verify all power connections, breakers, and switch settings are working
and correct.
2. Confirm that the power indicator above each power switch is illuminated
green.
Cannot Turn On the Fibre Bridge
If the bridge will not power on, use the following procedure to diagnose the
problem:
1. Verify that all power connections, breakers, and switch settings are
powered-on and are set correctly.
2. Confirm that the power indicator is illuminated green.
3. Verify that the fault indicator (amber) is not illuminated.
4. If the fault indicator is illuminated, the bridge is inoperable; further
diagnostic procedures cannot be performed. Contact your sales
representative or an HP service representative.
