This is to be used as a guide for configuring the PC, installing the software, and basic operation of the EFCM server application The sections in this document are as follows: 2 • System Requirements – Describes the hardware requirements for EFC Server operation.

This level of setup must be performed anytime a PC is configured from scratch. The following subsections describe the requirements for setting up disk partitions and configuring certain CMOS setup options. 3.

See the README.TXT file on Disk 1 of the System Recovery CD for specific instructions on performing a factory installation of Windows 2000. Note that the PC comes with recovery CD’s for both Windows NT Workstation 4.

The Web Server is used by the client application to access online help files, and the FTP Server is used by the client application to move files back and forth between the client and server as necessary.

Insert the HP EFC Management Applications CD into the CD-ROM drive, and run the installation program named d:\hpServerInstall.exe. 2. The only way to close the window is to stop the EFC Management Services via the Windows Service Control Manager as described in section 7.3.

This window cannot be closed by clicking on the “x” in the upper right corner of the window. The only way to close the EFC Manager Login is to stop the EFC Management Services via the Windows Service Control Manager (see section 7.3).

Do not stop the application through the Windows Task Manager by ending the task. To access the Service Control Manager from the Start Menu, click the “Settings” menu item, then click “Control Panel”.
