HP Surestore Director FC-64 Command Line Interface User's Guide
Logging In and Logging Out 11
Introduction
Logging In and Logging Out
The Command Line Interface allo ws a single Telnet client to be connected to the switch. If
a Telnet client logs o ut, or if after 15 minutes of inac tivity the client’s access times out,
another Telnet client may log in. Also note that the Telnet client (user) must log in any time
the director or switc h is restarted because the current user’s access is lost. Examples of a
restart include an IPL and any po wer-off situation.
User Access Rights
The Command Line Interfac e supports two user ac c ess rights: Administrato r and Operato r.
A user who logs in with Administrator access rights can use all of the commands described
in this publicatio n. However, Operator acc ess rights grant permission to use only the perf
and sho w branches of the CLI c o mmand tree ( fo r example, the perf.traffic and
show.system commands), as well as the globally available commands (login, logout, and
co mmaDelim).
