• Supports VMware VM (Shadow Copy creation only).

• In VSS Hardware Provider, if any XP or P9000 volumes are imported, they will be imported into

ALL of the XP or P9000 Host Groups that contain a WWN of an HBA configured in the server.

This could be an issue if you use HBAs from different vendors, since the different vendor HBAs

may have different driver parameters.

NOTE:

This may cause a failure if the multipath software tries to failover I/O from one vendor type HBA

to another vendor type HBA. HP recommends using only like vendor HBAs in a server to avoid

this potential issue.

VDS Hardware Provider

• Supports Hyper-V Host and Guest O/S. The unmask/present operation of a LUN to the local host

is not supported on a Hyper-V guest OS.

• Supports VMware VM. The unmask/present operation of a LUN to the local host is not supported

on a VMware VM.

• VDS Hardware Provider software running on Hyper-V Guest OS and VMware VM will not provide

multipath (MPIO DSM) related information and will not perform multipath operations.
