In this example, the compressed file i

. Since the password of “

” was provided, future prompts for the
password will not be seen.

Sign in to the source CMS with OS
-
level administrative privileges. Make sure this i
s the same
user that installed the Insight Software.
2.
Open a
command prompt
:
a.
Navigate to
Start menu

Run
.
b.
Type
cmd
,
and then click
OK
. The command prompt window appears.

In the command prompt window, execute the export command:
mxexport
4.
You will
be prompted
for,
“
Data encryption Password
”. Type your password and press
[Enter]
.
The password will not be displayed in clear text in this case.
Note:
Password should have minimum 8 characters and should be Alphanumeric.
IMPORTANT:
Be sure to r
etain the
password
, because
it
must be
provided during
the
import
operation.
Note:
A
customized location
can be provided
to store
the
exported data
.

Note:
Do not reboot the source CMS until the migration can be completed,
because thi
s will restart the Insight Software services. HP Suggest setting the
auto start mode for the services listed above to manual.
Upon a successful export operation the default export file
,
Products.zip
, is
created in

changes made to the
managed
environment
after the export is done are
not part of the
exported file, the source CMS Insight
