Accessing HP VCRM from HP SIM
1. Select Tools→System Information→System Management Homepage.
2. Select the target system, and then click Run Now. For more information, see “Creating a task”. The HP
System Management Homepage appears.
3. From HP SMH, perform one of the following actions:
• Click the HP Version Control Repository Manager link. The HP VCRM Home page appears.
• Select Tools, and then click the HP Version Control Repository Manager link.
Accessing HP VCRM In-Place
On the system that has the HP VCRM installed, navigate to https://hostname:2381/vcrepository.
The HP VCRM Home page appears.
NOTE: You can also access HP VCRM from the HP SMH.

Version Control status icons
NOTE: To access HP Version Control Agent (HP VCA), click a Software Status icon. If HP VCA cannot
be accessed, help displays that describes how to configure HP VCA or trust relationship on that system.
NOTE: There is a Software Status icon for every server except HP-UX.
Version Control status
The status is based on comparing the installed versions with versions in the repository .
StatusIcon
There are different reasons why an Unknown status icon might
appear:
• HP VCA does not have an HP VCRM configured.
• The configured HP VCRM is not reachable or does not respond
to HTTP requests (for example, the system or service is down
or the password has been changed).
• An HP VCA cannot be detected on the system or cannot
communicate with the HP VCA.
Status values when no RSP is set
Note: The status is that of the latest version of the component in the configured repository.
StatusIcon
This update contains critical bug fixes. Apply this update at your
earliest convenience.
The repository contains a version of this component that might
contain bug fixes or new hardware support. Review information
about this version and apply this update appropriately.
The installed software versions are the same or newer than the
latest versions available at the HP VCRM.
