The release includes updated firmware for Ultrium 3280 (LTO–5) SAS tape drives.
HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools (HP L&TT) must be used to download firmware to the tape
drive.

New functionality
• New functionality has been added to increase the drive's robustness to variations in media. This
will increase load time.
Enhancements
• 0x3350 errors will no longer be logged to the fault log if they require no corrective action.
• Real Time Clock calculations are more accurate because they use 64-bit code that the hardware
supports.
• Error rate counters are now cleared on a load rather than being cumulative since power-on.
• There are now extended retries if the Cartridge Memory cannot be read.
Fixes
• A performance issue spacing with a particular pattern of records and filemarks has been fixed.
• A poor read performance issue that had been experienced when reading through filemarks on
fast hosts has been fixed.
• The use of adjacent channel information during Spacing/Locating has been enabled to prevent
issues with spacing and locating errors 0x5090/0x5092.
