Monitoring Partition Boot Activity
On HP Superdome servers you can monitor the partition boot process,
from power-on or reset to HP-UX start-up, using the Virtual Front Panel
for the partition.
For details on the partition and cell boot states and activities that you
can observe from a partition’s Virtual Front Panel, refer to Table 5-2 on
page 229.
GSP Use the following procedure to access a partition’s Virtual Front Panel
(VFP) to monitor the partition as it boots. The VFP is available from the
Superdome complex’s GSP main menu.
Step 1. From the GSP main menu, select the Virtual Front Panel option.
Each partition has its own VFP that displays details about the
partition’s cells and the partition’s boot state and activity.
If you are accessing the GSP using a single-partition-user account,
selecting the VFP option takes you directly to the partition’s Virtual
Front Panel.
If accessing the GSP using an operator or administrator account, you can
select the VFP for any single partition, or can select a system VFP that
displays the partition state and activity for all partitions within the
Superdome complex.
You can perform this task using the GSP menu.
