Chapter 5250
Booting a Partition Past Boot-Is-Blocked
When a partition is inactive, all cells in the partition are in a
boot-is-blocked state. This is the case when a partition is in a
ready-for-reconfig state.
You can boot a partition to make it active by using the GSP command
menu’s BO (boot) command. This boots the cells past boot-is-blocked and
allows the cells to rendezvous and form the partition.
GSP Use the following procedure to boot a partition past boot-is-blocked to
make the partition active.
To determine whether a partition is in a boot-is-blocked
(ready-for-reconfig) state, use the partition’s Virtual Front Panel to
monitor the partition’s boot activity. If all of the partition’s cells are at
boot-is-blocked, the partition is halted at a ready-for-reconfig state.
Step 1. Log in to the Superdome complex’s GSP and access the GSP command
menu.
After logging in to the GSP, enter CM to select the GSP command menu.
You can perform this task using the GSP menu.
