ZMASTERD - Daemon Monitoring Feature

Restarting Terminated Daemons

If zmasterd detects that a daemon that it started has terminated, it will

attempt to restart that daemon.

• If the daemon that has terminated is zmon, it will be restarted with

the queu e parameter. This will cause zmon to continue functioning

and processing requests without re-downloading the .tmem file.

• If the daemon is not zmon, it will be restarted with the last runstring

zmasterd used to start that daemon. If the daemon was last started

when zmasterd was run with no runstring parameters, this will be

the parameter list in the z masterd_list file. If the daemon was started

by being “activated”, zmasterd will use the runstring provided in the

zmasterd act statement.
