HP Fabric Clustering System Switch Cluster Connection & HCA Connection LEDs
Normal operation is indicated by solid color logical link LED (green - switch, yellow - HCA), and a flashing
green physical link LED.
The top LED indicates a logical link has taken place. A logical link is established when the subnet manager
makes a sweep, and must be established to use the port.
If the connection from switch port to the corresponding HCA in the remote node is operational, the "Logical
Link" LED shows as solid color (green - switch, yellow - HCA), and the "Physical Link" LED shows as solid
green.
The bottom LED indicates a physical link has occurred. A physical link requires that the drivers on the
attached HP Fabric Clustering System host have been installed and are running.
If data is flowing between the switch port to the corresponding HCA in the remote node, the "Logical Link"
LED shows as flashing. Note that data does not start to flow until HP Fabric Clustering System initialization
has occurred.
If either the "Logical Link" or the "Physical Link" LED is off, the HCA is not operational.
The bottom LED indicates a physical link has occurred. A physical link requires that the drivers on the
attached HP Fabric Clustering System host have been installed and are running.
If the HCA is not operational and needs to be replaced, see “Install HP Fabric Clustering System Adapters” on
page 28.
