About the HP Fabric Clustering System Software Suite

Fabric Subnet Manager
The fabric Subnet Manager (SM) configures and maintains fabric operations. There can be multiple Subnet
Managers, but only one master. HP supports the use of an SM on the switch as well as a host-based SM used
only for point-to-point configurations.
About the HP Fabric Clustering System Software Suite
The HP Fabric Clustering System Software Suite supports the following upper-layer protocols: MPI and
IPoIB. The following is an architectural drawing of an InfiniBand software stack for HP-UX called HP Fabric
Clustering System.
