HP 12-Port 4X Fabric Copper Switch Commands
Administrative Commands
Appendix B
262
Command Modes:
Configuration Interface Ethernet Management (config-if-mgmt-ethernet) mode.
or
Configuration Interface InfiniBand (config-if-mgmt-ib) mode.
Privilege Level:
Unrestricted read-write user.
Usage Guidelines:
Ethernet Management:
The Ethernet Management gateway provides a window to the Fabric backplane and expansion modules.
The Ethernet Management gateway port must be enabled and its port IP addresses must be assigned before
it may be used to administer the chassis.
The Ethernet Management gateway does not have to be specifically identified, like the gateways of expansion
modules. This is because there is only one active Ethernet Management port on the chassis.
InfiniBand Management:
The Management-InfiniBand gateway provides a window to the Fabric backplane and expansion modules
that run IP. The Management-InfiniBand gateway and port IP addresses must be assigned before a Fabric
port may be used to administer the chassis.
The Management-InfiniBand gateway does not have to be specifically identified, like the gateways of
expansion modules. This is because there is only one active Management-InfiniBand port on the chassis.
You must configure the Management-InfiniBand port through the serial-console terminal.
Examples:
The following example shows the gateway command for the Ethernet management interface.
HP-IB# configure
HP-IB(config)# interface mgmt-ethernet
HP-IB(config-if-mgmt-ethernet)# gateway 10.3.0.94
The following example shows the ip address command in the InfiniBand management interface.
HP-IB# configure
HP-IB(config)# interface mgmt-ib
HP-IB(config-if-mgmt-ib)# gateway 10.3.0.94
Defaults:
The default gateway IP address is 0.0.0.0.
Table B-68 gateway Command Keyword Descriptions
Keyword Description
no Disables the gateway indicated by ip and resets the gateway IP address
to all zeros (0.0.0.0.0).
