no ip address ip configures the IP address of the out-of-band Ethernet port. A static address that will be
used by hosts on the network to connect to the Ethernet Management port. Once enabled, hosts on the
network use this address to run CLI, Element Manager, and SNMP software. mask is the subnet mask for the
IP address (Element Manager GUI is not supported in initial release of HP Fabric Clustering System).
The Ethernet Management port must be enabled and its IP and gateway addresses must be assigned before it
may be used to run the CLI or Element Manager. Some gateway functions are not supported by HP Fabric
Clustering System; Element Manager GUI is not supported in initial release of HP Fabric Clustering System.
The Ethernet Management port does not have to be specifically identified, like the ports of expansion
modules. This is because there is only one active Ethernet Management port on the chassis.
Use no shutdown to disable/enable the Ethernet Management port.

Synopsis:
The interface mgmt-ethernet command enables and configures the IP addresses for the port and gateway of
the out-of-band Ethernet port, which is used to administer the chassis.
Syntax:
interface mgmt-ethernet
Command Modes:
Configuration Interface Ethernet Management mode (config-if-mgmt-ether).
Privilege Level:
Unrestricted read-write user.
Usage Guidelines:
Entering this command puts you in the Interface configuration Ethernet Management mode.
The Ethernet Management port must be enabled and its IP and gateway addresses must be assigned before it
may be used to run the CLI or Element Manager; Element Manager GUI is not supported in initial release of
HP Fabric Clustering System.
The Ethernet Management port does not have to be specifically identified, like the ports of expansion
modules. This is because there is only one active Ethernet Management port on the chassis.
Use the gateway command after this command to configure the IP address of the gateway for the Ethernet
Management port. The no gateway ip command configures the default gateway IP address of the
out-of-band Ethernet Management port (some gateway functions are not supported by HP Fabric Clustering
System).
Use the shutdown command on the line following this command to shutdown the ethernet managemetn port.
Follow this command with no shutdown to enable the ethernet management port.
