HP 12-Port 4X Fabric Copper Switch Commands
Administrative Commands
Appendix B
276
If you use NTP servers to set the system clock, there is no need to set it manually with the clock command.
The system clock is initialized and reset by the NTP servers. You may specify up to three NTP servers.
Examples:
HP-IB(config)# ntp server-one 10.0.3.110
HP-IB(config)# ntp server-two 10.0.3.111
HP-IB(config)# ntp server-three 10.0.3.112
Defaults:
This command has no defaults.
Related Commands:
“clock” on page 250
“show clock” on page 142
“show ntp” on page 211
ping
Synopsis:
Use the ping command to verify if a host can be reached from the system.
Syntax:
ping dest
dest is the IP address or DNS name of the host, port, or expansion module you wish to ping.
Command Modes:
User-execute and privileged-execute modes.
Privilege Level:
General read-only user.
Usage Guidelines:
You may ping between connected Ethernet and HP Fabric Clustering System hosts, to the system Ethernet
Management port, gateway ports, and expansion modules (some gateway functions are not supported by HP
Fabric Clustering System).
The reply packet tells you if the host received the ping and the amount of time it took to return the packet.
A DNS server must be configured on the network for you to use DNS names.
Examples:
HP-IB# ping 10.3.102.24
Sending 5 ICMP Echoes to 10.3.102.24, 56 data bytes
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5)
