1 Fibre Channel Adapter Installation
This chapter contains installation prerequisites, guidelines, and procedures for each host bus adapter.

installation.

Superdome Installation
If the adapter is installed in a Superdome system, contact your HP representative for installation assistance.
Adapters in other systems can be installed or replaced by customers or qualified Hewlett-Packard service
representatives.
Installation Prerequisites
Before beginning the installation procedure, complete the following steps:
Step 1. Verify compliance with supported configurations using the HP Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter
Support Matrix.
Step 2. Check the following conditions.
Verify that the /usr/bin, /usr/sbin, and /sbin directories are in the PATH by invoking the
following command:
