Log Message Format
An example of a message that might be displayed via zmlog is the
following:
09:51:22 zmast 00125 Daemon znode has been stopped.
The message has a time stamp, followed by an 5-character identifier of
what daemon or driver is reporting the message. In this case, the
message is being reported by the zmasterd daemon. The 5-digit message
number and explanation follow. More information regarding what caused
the message to be displayed, plus corrective action (if applicable) can be
found by looking up the message number. Note that there is an optional
‘priority’ code after the 5-digit message code. It is up to the user to define
the priority and its meaning for each message. The recommended use is
to use priority 0,1,2,3, with 0 to indicate normal informative messages, 3
to indicate more sever problems. By default, priority 0 is shown as a
blank as in the above example.
