Step 2. Check that the PVC is displayed for the VPI/VCI numbers of the PVC
you added/modified, the destination IP address is displayed, and the
status is “Up”.
Step 3. To verify that the PVC works correctly, type this command:
ping destination_IP_address
If ping does not work, see “Checking Network Connectivity (Local PVC
Configuration)” on page 196.
Step 4. To check that ping is operating over the PVC, use this command:
atmmgr
card_inst_num
show -v
If the PVC is not correctly configured on the local system, the switch, and
the remote system, the atmmgr
card_inst_num
show -v command
shows that an SVC has been opened to your destination. In this case, you
must correct the PVC configuration.
Removing a PVC
NOTE Removing a PVC terminates any traffic currently using it.
You can remove a PVC in SAM or by using the command atmmgr
delete.
Using SAM
To remove a PVC in SAM, follow these steps:
Step 1. Log in as root.
Step 2. Type sam to start SAM.
Step 3. Select “Networking and Communications”.
Step 4. Select “Network Interface Cards”.
