Troubleshooting the ATM Adapter and Software Installation
Chapter 9192
A Use ioscan. Use this command to check that the driver is accessible:
ioscan -f
The ATM adapter ioscan entry should look something like this:
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
====================================================================
...
atm 0 10/8 atm2gsc CLAIMED INTERFACE
atm 1 10/12 atmgsc CLAIMED INTERFACE
If ioscan does not display information for ATM, this might mean that
the product has not been properly installed. Reinstall the product, then
start the troubleshooting procedure again. If ioscan returns an error
after the product has been reinstalled, continue with the troubleshooting
procedure and contact HP regarding the ioscan problem. See the
ioscan(1)man page for more information about the command syntax.
B Use lanscan. Use the command lanscan to check that the software and
hardware interfaces are UP. In the example below, both interfaces are
UP (both the Hardware State and Net-Interface State fields are
shown as UP).
The command displays the following information about each LAN device
that has software support on the system:
Hardware path.
Active station address (also known as MAC or physical address).
Card instance number.
Hardware state.
Network interface name unit and state.
Network management ID.
MAC type.
Major number of the LAN device driver file.
Example (HP-UX 10.20):
