----15.128.131.156 PING Statistics----
5 packets transmitted, 5 packets received, 0% packet loss
If ping to the remote system is successful, the SVC is working and the
ATM adapter is correctly configured.
C Read NetTL log. Try to correct the problem using information logged in
the file /var/adm/nettl.LOG00.
To format and display the log file, use this command:
netfmt -N -f /var/adm/nettl.LOG00 [-t 50]
NOTE The log data is stored in the default log files that are opened when the
nettl daemon is started. The default log files can be located at:
/usr/adm/nettl.LOG00 and /usr/adm/nettl.LOG01 on HP-UX
10.20 and HP-UX 11.0
/usr/adm/nettl.LOG000 and /usr/adm/nettl.LOG001 on HP-UX
11i v1 or later
The default log file is specified in /etc/nettlgen.conf. You can change
the default log files by editing the /etc/nettlgen.conf file.
D Enable tracing. Use the command nettl -traceon to set tracing on
(see “G” on page 213 and the nettl(1) man page for more information
about tracing).
E Use ifconfig. If the ping command hangs, check that the adapter’s IP
interface has been set up correctly. Enter this command:
ifconfig
net_interface
where
net_interface
is the IP interface to be checked (for example,
ipa0 or cip100). The results from ifconfig should look something like
this, indicating that the interface is UP (the key information is shown in
bold in these examples):
For HP-UX 10.20:
ifconfig ipa0
