Troubleshooting EMS HA over ATM
Chapter 9278
If all adapters and interfaces went down—and so local recovery was not
possible—but the primary ELAN interface later becomes up, you might
see these messages logged:
Current ELAN interface status has changed to UP 309
An ATM adapter status has changed to UP 317
or
Current ATM adapter status has changed to UP 310
An ELAN interface status has changed to UP 316
The word “Current” is used in the above messages because the primary
ELAN interface is the current ELAN interface when all ELAN interfaces
are down. This is because the primary interface has the primary IP
address associated with it. If hatmmon is started with all interfaces down
and the IP address is on a secondary ATM adapter, the IP address stays
on the secondary adapter and that adapter is the current adapter.
If an ELAN interface is down and a secondary ELAN interface later
becomes up, you might see these messages logged:
An ELAN interface status has changed to UP 316
Local recovery made 307
An ATM adapter status has changed to UP 317
or
An ATM adapter status has changed to UP 317
Local recovery made 307
An ELAN interface status has changed to UP 316
In this case, a secondary ELAN interface/adapter became up and a local
recovery was made to that ELAN interface/adapter.
Independent of changes to the current ATM adatper or current ELAN
interface, hatmmon logs messages about status changes in other
(secondary) adapters/interfaces:
An ELAN interface status has changed to UP 316
An ATM adapter status has changed to UP 317
An ELAN interface has changed to DOWN 318
An ATM adapter has changed to DOWN 319
