you have installed a J3573A ATM adapter and now are installing the
ATM software for it, we recommend you select the J3573A software
product (instead of the J2806CA software product) in the swinstall list.
Another thing to keep in mind when installing the ATM software is that
if you install multiple ATM adapters of the same bus type (HP-PCI or
HP-HSC), you need to install only one of the software products for that
bus type. For example, if you have installed a J2469A adapter and a
J2499A adapter, you need to install only one of the HP-HSC software
products (the “new” J2468A, J2469A, J2499A, J3420B, or J3573A, or the
“old” J2806CA—remember, we recommend that you use the “new”
software products).
NOTE The ATM software is not locked. So, you do not need a codeword to
unlock and install the software.
Listed below are the steps you must follow to load the ATM software,
using the HP-UX swinstall program (for more information about
swinstall, see the swinstall man page).
Step 1. Log in as root.
Step 2. Insert the software media into the appropriate drive. If you are loading
the software from a CD-ROM, go to step 3. Otherwise, go to step 4.
Step 3. Mount the CD-ROM drive by using this command:
mount device_name
where device_name is the name you assigned to the CD-ROM drive.
