ATM Configuration and Troubleshooting Guide

Configuring LAN Emulation Interfaces
Configuring an ELAN Interface
Chapter 454
IMPORTANT If you want to configure MPOA, be sure to specify values for these fields:
LANE Version—select LANE V2.
MPOA Client—select enabled.
MPC Selector.
For the MPC Selector field, see the SAM online help for information
about determining the values to specify.
We recommend that you do not enable LLC multiplexing, because it
degrades performance. However, if you do want to enable LLC
multiplexing, be sure to specify values for these fields:
LANE Version—select LANE V2.
LLC Multiplexing—select enabled.
LLC Selector.
For the LLC Selector field, see the SAM online help for information
about determining the values to specify.
Note that MPOA and LLC multiplexing are two separate features of
ATM, and they can be enabled and disabled independently of each other.
Step 8. Select the OK button when you are finished, and verify that the ATM
adapter has successfully joined the ELAN (see “Configuring an Edge
Device for Token Ring Networks” on page 55).
Step 9. If you will be using MPOA, you must issue one of the following
commands before you start using MPOA:
route add net dest_host_system netmask
mask gateway count
or
route add host dest_host_system netmask
mask gateway count
See the route(1M) man page for details.
If you are not going to use MPOA, go to step 10.
