Hardware Requirements
You must have an appropriate ATM adapter installed in your HP-UX system. You can
combine adapters, as long as they are all supported for your system. The table below lists the
supported adapter configurations for HP-UX 11i v2. Note that discontinued adapters are not
shown.
NOTES: Listed below are some things you should keep in mind when using the information
shown in the table above:
• The “Maximum Adapters per System” column shows the maximum number of ATM
adapters the ATM software can support for each class of HP-UX system. However, keep in
mind that some models within a class might have fewer physical slots available for ATM
adapters than the number shown in the “Max. Adapters per System” column. Increasing
the number of adapters lets you increase the number of VCs (see “Disk Space and Memory
Requirements” on page 13 for memory-related limitations). The effective bandwidth will
depend mostly on the number and type of HP-UX systems.
