Verifying Hardware Installation
After installing the hardware and software, you can verify the installation as follows:
• A green light on the carrier LED indicates that hardware installation is successful and that the cable is
connected correctly.
Figure 1-3 shows the LED display on the port module.

• If the LED is blinking:
- Check whether the system is switched on, and the cables are properly connected.
- If the LED is off, check whether the driver is claimed by running the following command at the
command prompt:
$ ioscan -knfC tty

v1 operating systems.
Table 1-3 lists the HP-UX servers on which On-Line Addition and Replacement (OLAR) of AD279A PCI MUX
64-Port adapter is supported.
To add a new adapter or an additional adapter to a system that supports HP-UX 11i v1 operating system,
complete the following steps:
