10GigEthr-02 (iexgbe) B.11.31.1403 Ethernet Driver Release Notes HP-UX 11i v3
Problems fixed in recent releases

DescriptionSR number
LRO may truncate/enlarge TCP frames causing TCP performance degradation. The software
LRO algorithm may try to coalesce an additional packet which does not belong to the same
QXCR1001328356
TCP segment. This can causes packet discards. This is a rare scenario involving a specific
traffic pattern having TCP timestamps and sacks options.
To enable/disable software LRO use, enter: nwmgr -s –A drv_pr=on/off -c lan<ppa>

DescriptionSR number
IEXGBE: Interface needs to be put in DEAD state in case of a firmware issue.QXCR1001263150
Card firmware assertions are handled to put the interface in DEAD state without panic.
Install script overwrites the entry in nettlgen.conf unconditionallyQXCR1001292742
The installation script should not overwrite the entry if it's modified.
IEXGBE: improper break statement in IEXGBE_BOOT_PARAM_SETQXCR1001286880
During boot time, if one of the parameters has incorrect value passed by user (via
/etc/rc.config.d/hpiexgbeconf file) current implementation will not set values for other
parameters in sequence.
With new modification, even if some parameter has incorrect values, other parameters will
be set with corresponding values specified in hpiexgbeconf file.

DescriptionSR number
After upgrading Virtual Connect (VC) firmware, the iexgbe Flex-10 interface goes to a DEAD
state (driver state)
QXCR1001266661
While upgrading VC firmware, the iexgbe Flex-10 interface is reset. Because of a driver
defect, the interface goes into the DEAD state but the link status remains UP (it should be
DOWN).
The interface cannot exchange heartbeat packets. Because the link is still UP, Serviceguard
does not detect the interface issue. This leads to a Serviceguard Transfer Of Control (TOC).

DescriptionSR number
iexgbe 1303 versions introduced issues due to missing firmware lock
The following symptoms might be seen because of this defect:
QXCR1001270195
• (QXCR1001268673) iexgbe driver continuously sends UP/DOWN notification events
to the WBEM provider.
The WBEM events seen by the user are of these types: DL_HP_EXT_LINK_DOWN_IND
and DL_HP_EXT_LINK_UP_IND.
• (QXCR1001267062) The nettl log becomes filled with link EPHY8073 link up
notification messages.
The following is an example of the messages seen:
<4006> 10GBase-SR in path 0/0/0/3/0/0/5
Link Event.
EPHY8073 link up or
<4006> 10GBase-SR in path 0/0/0/3/0/0/5
Link Event.
EPHY8726 link up
