Table 3 HP-UX September 2011 (AR1109) Fixes (continued) Defect ID Description QXCR1001097754 This corrects a potential null pointer reference and subsequent system panic during driver initialization. QXCR1001094073 This change will log an Event Monitoring Service (EMS) event and syslog information whenever a Fibre device comes back in the Name Server.
Table 6 HP-UX September 2010 (AR1009) Fixes (continued) Defect ID Description QXCR1001004749 Certain new tape drivers and virtual tape libraries can generate previously unseen FC traffic that fclp does not handle properly, resulting in a panic with a data TLB fault. This problem has been corrected. QXCR1001011407 SNIA dumps core with command vxesd with fclp cards and driver.
Table 13 HP-UX December 2008 Fixes Defect ID Description QXCR1000867632 The fix delivers the SNIA API HBA_GetFcpTargetMappingV2(), which is used to oormation about the targets mapped through a port on a multiport Fibre Channel card.btain inf QXCR1000841117 vPars boot panic with AD222 HBA has been fixed. QXCR1000869847 System panic due to spinlock being held too long in a tracing loop has been fixed.
• After a host system is booted, if a private loop configuration is connected, the target is not detected Corrective action: Execute a probing ioscan to discover the new target. To run a probing scan, run ioscan without the -k option. • A voltage degradation alert message is shown in the System Events Logs upon system boot up. This is only an alert message for the 456972-B21 HBA. Functionality and performance on the Mezzanine card are not adversely affected. No actions are needed.
1. 2. 3. • Return to the Boot Manager, enter and exit the EFI shell a second time, and retry the boot; or, Reset the system and retry the boot; or, Configure the EFI driver to always map the boot devices using the drvcfg -s at the EFI shell prompt. Fibre channel devices do not appear in the EFI shell The solution to this issue is to use the drvcfg -s at the EFI shell prompt, to configure the Emulex EFI driver to always scan the boot devices. 1.
. • After completing your selection, use the ESC key to exit the EFI configuration menus. Using ioscan with krm not running When ioscan is run with the —fn or —Fn option, and the kernel resource monitor (krm) is not running, there could be stale krm device files in the system, which would correspond to different devices, including fclp, in ioscan output. This issue has no impact on the functionality of the Fibre Channel port; however, ioscan output may be confusing.
