1 Installing the HP-UX operating system components
NOTE: For information on how to install the adapter card in your server product, consult the
installation instructions that are included in the adapter kit. A copy of the installation instructions

The following sections describe the installation instructions for HP-UX operating systems.
Prerequisites
Before installing the adapter, follow these steps:
1. The adapter card is supported through several server platforms including Proliant machines.
Verify compliance with supported configurations using the HP Ethernet System-Driver Support
Matrix at the following website:

IMPORTANT: There are two (2) versions of the BL860c server blade: an A” version and a
“B” version.
The NC532m adapter is only supported on the BL860c “B” version server blades (model #
AD323B or AD217B). Ensure the NC532m adapter is installed into the BL860c “B” version
bladed server.
2. Ensure that your system meets the following minimum software and firmware requirements:
Onboard Administrator (OA) v2.60 or later
BL870c server blade firmware v4.21 or later
BL860c server blade firmware v4.21 or later
BL8x0c i2 server blade firmware v01.08 or later.
