This section describes the new binaries that are available in NTP v4.
ntpd
In NTP v4, the NTP daemon is ntpd, not xntpd as in NTP v3. The ntpd binary is an operating
system daemon, which sets and maintains the system time-of-day in sync with the Internet standard
